Behind The Green Door Brings a Bold New Era to Singapore’s Nightlife Scene

Behind The Green Door (BTGD) has officially opened, redefining the after-hours experience with a culturally progressive and musically diverse approach. More than just a club, BTGD is a creative hub that blends world-class music, immersive design, and innovative food and drink concepts, making it a must-visit for those seeking something beyond the ordinary.

A Visionary Space for Music and Culture

Under the leadership of Joshua Pillai, a key figure in Singapore’s cutting-edge nightlife scene, BTGD is built on three pillars: good music, good drinks, and good vibes. With a design that fuses New York industrial chic, animal print accents, and lush greenery, the venue offers an intimate yet electrifying atmosphere illuminated by dynamic LED visuals.

At its core, BTGD is a platform for artistic expression, regularly featuring international and local trailblazers. The space has already hosted AHADADREAM, Djibril Cissé, Jarreau Vandal, and Zakes Bantwini, while championing Singapore’s music scene through collaborations with collectives like GrooveTop, Tropika Global, .WAV(Y), and Manifest.

Curated Music Programming

BTGD sets itself apart with a genre-spanning music lineup, ensuring a fresh experience every night:

  • Wednesdays: A relaxed blend of jazz, funk, Balearic, and world music, perfect for winding down midweek.
  • Thursdays – Sips & Drips: A ladies’ night featuring hip-hop, Amapiano, and Afro beats, offering complimentary entry for all female guests.
  • Fridays – Afro House Nights: Soulful and high-energy Afro House sets, featuring names like Boddhi Satva and AWEN, delivering deep, rhythmic, and spiritual soundscapes.
  • Saturdays – House & Tech House: A celebration of forward-thinking electronic music, ranging from soulful melodies to pulsating tech house beats.

A Culinary First: The World’s First Dosa Tacos

BTGD isn’t just about music—it’s also pushing culinary boundaries. In collaboration with Singaporean rapper YUNG RAJA’s The Maha Co., the venue introduces a globally unprecedented dish: dosa tacos.

Available Wednesday to Friday from 7 PM – 10 PM, these tacos pay homage to South Indian heritage while reinventing the classic street food experience. Flavors include:

  • Masala Prawn ($12.90 SGD)
  • Lamb Rendang ($12.90 SGD)
  • Crispy Chicken ($11.90 SGD)
  • Crackling Roast Pork ($12.90 SGD)

Signature Cocktails to Elevate the Experience

BTGD’s bar team, in collaboration with mixologists from Singapore and Bali, has crafted a lineup of bold and inventive cocktails, including:

  • Spiced Route Gimlet ($28 SGD) – Gin, lime, and basil for a fresh, herbaceous kick.
  • Harlem Shake Fizz ($28 SGD) – A rich blend of rosemary gin, spiced coconut, burnt milk, and white chocolate.
  • Tales of Colada ($28 SGD) – Pineapple tequila meets smoky agave, coconut water, and toasted chocolate foam.
