Celebrate Prosperity with Tajimaya’s Sizzling Saikyo Yakiniku Set

As a self-proclaimed meat lover, I was looking forward to sampling Tajimaya Yakiniku’s new Saikyo Yakiniku Set, featuring premium cuts and a unique presentation. My father, equally enthusiastic about grilled meats, joined me for this feast at their VivoCity outlet, and we were ready for the ultimate yakiniku experience.

Charcoal grill

The set is beautifully presented on a revolving carousel surrounding a sizzling grill, making it as much a visual delight as a culinary one:

We were treated to an array of top-tier cuts, including A5 Miyazaki Striploin, A5 Kagoshima Zabuton Chuck Flap, and A5 Kagoshima Sasabara Flank, US Kurobuta Pork along with a variety of fresh seafood like scallop and mekaiji (swordfish).

The portions were impressively generous—even for two avid carnivores like us, it was a feast! Each cut offered something special, including the wagyu tongue.

MS 6/7 Australian Wagyu Ribs Finger

The Miyazaki Striploin melted in the mouth with its buttery texture, while the Kagoshima Zabuton had a perfect balance of marbling and flavour. The thinly sliced Kagoshima Sasabara Flank was our favourite for the night, cut like a shabu slice, with a smoky note from grilling.

For anyone who enjoys variety, this set truly delivers, ensuring there is something to please every palate.

The seafood was equally fresh and provided as cleansers from an overload of meat.

Cooking the swordtail and scallop

I always enjoyed self-cooking, especially on the grills. Grilling the meats ourselves at our table added a layer of fun and interaction to the meal. The high-performance exhaust system kept the air clear and comfortable, even with the grill sizzling away.

Grllling the meats ourselves

Other than the grilled meat, we also savoured these kitchen-prepared items in the set:

Japanese Wagyu Sukiyaki Don with Onsen Egg Yolk
Truffle Kaisen Tartare with Tenkatsu
Japanese Yuzu Sorbet

Beyond the food, the ambiance elevated the experience.

The restaurant offers a panoramic view of Sentosa Island and Resorts World Sentosa, adding a serene backdrop to the meal. For those seeking privacy, Tajimaya also has private dining rooms, perfect for intimate celebrations or family gatherings.

At $178++ for two persons (or $348++ for four), the Saikyo Yakiniku Set is a worthy indulgence.

It is not just about the quantity but the quality and the experience of grilling premium Japanese cuts right at your table.

My father and I left completely satisfied, already looking forward to our next visit. If you are a fan of Japanese BBQ or just love the idea of a hearty yet elegant meal, Tajimaya’s Saikyo Yakiniku Set is worth putting on your list.

Tajimaya Yakiniku has outlets at both VivoCity and Great World. Reservations can be made through their website.
