Carlsberg is bringing fresh excitement to this year’s Chinese New Year (CNY) celebrations with the launch of its Carlsberg 一起發: Brewing Prosperity Together for the 178th Year campaign. Marking 178 years of brewing excellence, Carlsberg unveils a special edition of its iconic packaging, designed by award-winning creative duo 1983ASIA (Yao & Su Su).
The campaign’s limited-edition packaging is inspired by Carlsberg’s “Hop Leaf” emblem, reimagined into a striking snake motif by Yao and Su Su. Representing vitality, prosperity, and good fortune, the snake features a golden body adorned with blossoming flowers, symbolisng a smooth and successful year ahead. A crown of hops adds a nod to Carlsberg’s brewing heritage.
The tagline Carlsberg 一起發 is both a celebration of the brand’s 178th anniversary and a play on the Chinese pronunciation of the numbers “one,” “seven,” and “eight,” signifying unity, success, and prosperity.
“In Chinese culture, blossoming flowers signify hope and happiness, and each flower carries its own meaning of prosperity,” shared Yao and Su Su. “We wanted the design to reflect these values, making Carlsberg a vibrant part of family celebrations this CNY.”
