Crunchyroll, Aniplex, Sony Music, and PlayStation Unite for “Ghost of Tsushima: Legends” Anime Adaptation

In an exciting collaboration, Crunchyroll, Aniplex, Sony Music, and PlayStation Productions have announced a new anime series based on the critically acclaimed video game “Ghost of Tsushima” and its cooperative multiplayer mode, “Legends.” Inspired by Japanese folklore and mythology, the series promises to bring the game’s evocative samurai aesthetics to the anime world.

A Star-Studded Production Team

Produced by Aniplex, the studio behind iconic series like Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and Sword Art Online, the adaptation will feature:

  • Director Takanobu Mizuno at the helm.
  • Gen Urobuchi (NITRO PLUS) crafting the story composition.
  • KAMIKAZE DOUGA handling animation, known for their striking visuals and unique style.

Sony Music will take charge of the music and soundtrack, ensuring an immersive audio experience that complements the anime’s rich storytelling.

A Cinematic Journey into Samurai Mythology

The anime will bring to life the traditional samurai aesthetics and cinematic storytelling that made Ghost of Tsushima: Legends a fan favorite. With its roots in Japanese folktales, viewers can expect a visually stunning and emotionally resonant series.

The announcement was made during Sony Group Corporation’s CES 2025 press conference in Las Vegas.
