Cheers to KeonBae: Kanpai Group Launches Japanese-Korean Fusion Bar and Restaurant

Mark your calendars for January 13 as Kanpai Group, the creative minds behind some of Singapore’s most beloved gastrobars—Kanpai 2.0, Kanpai 789, and Yoasobi By Kanpai—introduces KeonBae, a bold new concept that blends Japanese-Korean fusion with vibrant highball culture.

Named after the Korean toast “cheers,” KeonBae is more than just a bar—it’s a celebration of flavors, fun, and connection. Featuring an enticing menu of fusion bites and a lineup of soju, shochu, and whisky highballs starting at just $6.80, KeonBae promises to be your new go-to spot for good times and great food.

A Playful Space with Seoul-Inspired Vibes

Located in the heart of Singapore’s CBD, KeonBae spans 1,000 square feet, offering both indoor and alfresco seating. Designed with a modern twist on the iconic Korean “pocha” street bars, the space pops with bold colors, LED signage, and a dynamic atmosphere reminiscent of Seoul’s electric nightlife. Whether it’s after-work drinks, a casual dinner, or a late-night hangout, KeonBae’s playful yet chic vibe makes it the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle.

Savor the Fusion Flavors

KeonBae’s menu is a flavorful journey that merges Japanese and Korean culinary traditions, featuring standout dishes crafted for sharing—or savoring solo.

Start with the Korokke Nugget (SGD 13++), a crispy, golden mix of beef, pork, and duck, served with truffle katsu sauce and crème fraîche. For a luxe twist, indulge in the Abalone-Juk Risotto (SGD 25++), where velvety abalone liver sauce meets perfectly cooked risotto.

Don’t miss the Roasted Gaji (SGD 8++), a fiery medley of roasted eggplant, chili garlic sauce, and tangy gochujang glaze, or the Dakgalbi Nachos (SGD 16++), a creative spin on Korean spicy chicken layered with melted Camembert cheese and crispy parmesan rice paper.

For sushi lovers, the Unagi & Butter “Box” Oshisushi (SGD 18++) delivers rich umami flavors with sweet-savoury glazed eel and a melt-in-your-mouth butter finish.

And of course, fried chicken takes center stage with KeonBae’s Fried Chicken (K.F.C), available in four mouthwatering flavors: Original, Spicy, Yangnyeom, and Garlic Soy Glaze. Priced at SGD 13++ for three pieces or SGD 24++ for six, these triple-fried delights are tender, crispy, and absolutely addictive.

Raise Your Glass to Creative Cocktails

KeonBae’s bar menu is equally impressive, with highballs starting at SGD 6.80 and an array of innovative cocktails. For a whimsical touch, try Me, You, Breakfast? (SGD 15++), a dreamy mix of French toast, maple syrup, decaf espresso, and Haku Vodka. Or go bold with the Plum Honey Shochu Highball, a refreshing twist on a Japanese classic.

Find KeonBae at 38 Pekin Street, #01-01, Singapore 048768. Open Monday to Thursday (3 PM – 11 PM) and Friday to Saturday (3 PM – 2 AM).
