Cathay Pacific is set to expand its global network once again, reintroducing direct flights between Hong Kong and Rome starting 5 June 2025. This new three-times-weekly summer service marks the airline’s second direct connection between Hong Kong and Italy, complementing its current flights to Milan, which will increase to daily this summer.
Travelers to Rome can immerse themselves in the city’s rich historical and cultural offerings, from iconic monuments and museums to its stunning churches. The timing of Cathay Pacific’s Rome relaunch aligns perfectly with the 2025 Year of Jubilee, a rare celebration by the Catholic Church that occurs every 25 years. Vatican City and Rome will host an array of special events and festivities, making it an ideal time for visitors from Asia to explore the Italian capital.
The route will be operated using Cathay Pacific’s modern Airbus A350-900 aircraft, offering a premium travel experience across Business, Premium Economy, and Economy cabins. Passengers can enjoy fully flat beds, spacious seating, and exceptional onboard comfort, ensuring a seamless journey.
Flight schedules are as follows (all times local, subject to change and regulatory approval):
Cathay Pacific’s commitment to expanding its global footprint continues to strengthen Hong Kong’s position as a major international aviation hub. In addition to Rome, the airline has announced several new destinations for 2025, including Hyderabad in March, Dallas in April, Munich in June, and Brussels in August. Its low-cost carrier, HK Express, is also launching flights to Sendai, Japan, this January. Together, the Cathay Group aims to serve 100 destinations worldwide by the end of 2025.
For travelers flying from Europe, Cathay Pacific’s extensive Asia-Pacific network offers seamless connections via Hong Kong, including access to 19 destinations across Mainland China.
