Kids Dash Kicks Off 2024 Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon Weekend with Excitement

The 2024 Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon (SCSM) began on a high note as the Kids Dash brought smiles and laughter to over 5,500 children and parents. This year’s event saw a 10% increase in participation, reflecting the growing enthusiasm for family-friendly running experiences.

Flagging off at the F1 Pit Building, the young runners, accompanied by their parents, dashed through a scenic twilight route that showcased Singapore’s stunning skyline and Central Business District (CBD). The race concluded back at the F1 Pit Building, where participants celebrated their achievements with medals and cheers.

Fun for All Ages

The Kids Dash offered two race categories:

  • 600m for participants aged 6 and under.
  • 900m for children aged 7 to 12.

The event introduced young runners to the joys of racing while creating lasting memories with their families and inspiring future track stars.

Adding to the excitement, the Kids Village offered a host of activities, including human foosball, game booths, bouncy castles, and tasty treats like cotton candy and popcorn. It was a day of family-friendly fun that kept spirits high long after the race.

Special Perks and a Record-Breaking Milestone

Participants received exclusive race-day entitlements, including a race bib, running tee, Kids Dash gift, finisher’s medal, and light refreshments. In collaboration with the Singapore Flyer, kids enjoyed complimentary entry to the Singapore Flyer and Time Capsule with an accompanying adult ticket purchase, available until December 8, 2024.

The day also highlighted a moment of inspiration as para-athlete Zac celebrated his record-breaking marathon finish with his daughter on her birthday, embodying the spirit of perseverance and joy.

A Weekend of Marathon Magic

The festive weekend continues with the 5km and 10km races on November 30, followed by the Half Marathon (21.1km) and Marathon (42.195km) on December 1, ensuring a thrilling experience for runners and spectators alike.
