Vietjet Launches Hanoi-Kuala Lumpur Route, Strengthening ASEAN Ties

Vietjet has officially launched its new direct route connecting Hanoi and Kuala Lumpur, further enhancing economic, cultural, and tourism ties between Vietnam and Malaysia. The inaugural ceremony, held during Vietnam’s General Secretary To Lam’s official visit to Malaysia, marks a significant step in fostering regional connectivity.

Vietnam’s General Secretary To Lam, along with high-ranking delegates from Vietnam and Malaysia and Vietjet’s leaders, perform the ceremony to inaugurate the new Hanoi-Kuala Lumpur route

This new service aligns with Vietnam and Malaysia’s recent elevation of bilateral relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership, paving the way for greater collaboration and development between the two nations and across Southeast Asia.

Weekly Flights Begin November 28, 2024

The Hanoi-Kuala Lumpur route will operate seven round trips weekly, starting November 28, 2024, offering convenient travel options for both business and leisure travelers. This marks Vietjet’s second direct service between Vietnam and Malaysia, following the Ho Chi Minh City-Kuala Lumpur route introduced in 2016. Together, these routes double Vietjet’s weekly flights between the two countries to 14 round trips, addressing growing travel demand.

A Tale of Two Capitals

Both Hanoi and Kuala Lumpur are rich in culture, history, and unique attractions.

  • Kuala Lumpur dazzles with the iconic Petronas Twin Towers, vibrant street markets, and a culinary fusion of Malay, Chinese, and Indian flavors. The city also offers easy access to ecological wonders and lush tropical rainforests.
  • Hanoi, with its historic Thang Long Imperial Citadel and tranquil Hoan Kiem Lake, invites visitors to experience its rich heritage and vibrant street food culture. As a gateway to Vietnam, Hanoi offers connections to destinations like Ha Long Bay and Sapa, providing travelers with unforgettable adventures.

Boosting Regional Connectivity

The Hanoi-Kuala Lumpur route is poised to deepen the relationship between Vietnam and Malaysia, advancing bilateral cooperation and strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership. Leaders from both nations expressed confidence in the route’s potential to drive economic growth, cultural exchange, and ASEAN development.
