Marriott International has reached a remarkable milestone in Japan with the grand opening of its 100th property in the country—the Four Points Flex by Sheraton Osaka Umeda. This launch also marks the brand’s debut in the Asia Pacific region (excluding China), in partnership with global investment firm KKR, emphasizing Marriott’s growing commitment to expanding its midscale offerings.
The opening of Four Points Flex by Sheraton Osaka Umeda is just the beginning. Marriott plans to unveil 12 more Four Points Flex properties across Japan later this year, introducing the brand to key cities like Morioka and Kanazawa. By early 2025, 14 Four Points Flex by Sheraton properties are expected to join Marriott’s portfolio in Japan, contributing over 3,600 rooms to the brand’s expanding presence in prominent locations including Hakodate, Yokohama, Nagoya, Kyoto, and Hakata.
