Meet Visionary Filmmakers at the Singapore International Film Festival (SGIFF) Industry Days This December

The Singapore International Film Festival (SGIFF) is set to host the first-ever SGIFF Industry Days, a three-day conference for film professionals to exchange insights, ideas, and experiences. Held at LASALLE College of the Arts from December 3 to 5, this groundbreaking event will bring together prominent voices from Southeast Asia and beyond, with a lineup of live panels, discussions, and networking sessions.

SGIFF Industry Days offers 15 dynamic sessions covering essential topics, including “The Essence of Strong Female Characters,” “Developing Asian-led Stories for a Global Audience,” and “Treating Intimacy with Professionalism and Authenticity.” Attendees will hear from leading filmmakers such as Ossama Mohammed—the renowned Syrian director whose newly restored Stars in Broad Daylight will open the Landmark section of the festival—and Santosh Sivan, India’s most awarded cinematographer and the first Asian recipient of the Pierre Angénieux ExcelLens in Cinematography at Cannes.

Other distinguished speakers include Hong Kong’s Derek Tsang (Better Days), Singaporean filmmaker Daniel Hui (Small Hours of the Night), and Indonesian actress Marissa Anita (Crocodile Tears). Together, they’ll share insights on storytelling, authenticity, and capturing unique Asian narratives.

Program Highlights

  • Developing Asian-led Stories for a Global Audience: Join Hong Kong filmmaker Derek Tsang and other industry experts as they explore the journey of Asian content in global markets.
