Marvel Studios’ Deadpool and Wolverine has marked a major milestone as the first film of 2024 to exceed S$7 million in Singapore’s box office. This blockbuster hit has set a new benchmark, claiming the top spot as the highest-grossing M18 film in Singapore’s history and the #1 title of the year.
Achieving this remarkable feat, Deadpool and Wolverine is the first film to surpass S$7 million in earnings since Avatar: The Way of Water in 2022.
The film has outperformed both of its predecessors in the Deadpool franchise, with Deadpool (2016) ending its run with S$6.28 million and Deadpool 2 (2018) earning S$5.29 million at the Singapore box office.
This title also holds the record as the longest-running Marvel film in cinemas since Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, continuing its successful 13-week streak.
With a 94% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, Deadpool and Wolverine has resonated with fans, who have embraced its mix of fourth-wall humour, star chemistry, and a wealth of Easter eggs and cameos.
The film’s dedicated following has contributed to its sustained popularity and record-breaking run.
Marvel Studios’ Deadpool and Wolverine is still screening at Golden Village and Shaw Theatres, continuing to draw in audiences and cementing its place as a standout in Singapore’s 2024 box office landscape.
