Changi Airport Group’s ‘World of Wines & Spirits’ Event: A Multi-Sensory Celebration of Art and Fine Liquors

Changi Airport Group (CAG) has once again delighted connoisseurs and enthusiasts with the latest edition of the World of Wines & Spirits (WOWS) Signature Event. Held on October 11 and 12, 2024, at the iconic National Gallery Singapore, this exclusive gathering partnered with LOTTE Duty Free and embraced the theme “Artistic Alchemy of Wines & Spirits.”

This year’s event was a feast for the senses, merging the art of winemaking and spirits distillation with creative expression. Over 600 distinguished guests, including local celebrities like Ayden Sng, Christopher Lee, and Fann Wong, were treated to an impressive showcase of over 100 premium and rare liquors from 66 prestigious brands. The evening underscored Singapore’s growing appreciation for fine spirits, featuring renowned labels such as Bowmore, The Glenlivet, and Mortlach.

Highlighting the event’s exclusivity, the most expensive bottle sold was The Macallan Horizon, priced at S$66,800. This remarkable collaboration with Bentley Motors exemplifies the fusion of exquisite whisky craftsmanship and automotive design. Other notable sales included The Dalmore Cask Curation II at S$61,000, the HIBIKI 40-Year-Old at S$60,000, and the luxurious LOUIS XIII The Legacy at S$25,500.

Guests enjoyed immersive experiences divided into key categories, from Single Malt Whiskies to Sakes. The Glass Room served as a stunning gallery where fine spirits were displayed like masterpieces, emphasizing the craftsmanship behind each bottle. Inspired by traditional Japanese architecture, the Sake Area exuded serene beauty, while the Wines Section showcased the grandeur of Greek design.

Adding a unique twist, acclaimed pastry chef Janice Wong unveiled an edible art installation inspired by nature, allowing guests to taste the art. A customized photo wall by Messy Mxsi (Zi Xi) further enhanced the event’s ambiance.

The evening culminated in a spectacular performance merging classical ballet with cutting-edge technology. Dancers moved in harmony with ethereal violin compositions, enhanced by digital projections that symbolized triumph and unity.

CAG continues to lead in the Wines and Spirits sector, demonstrating a commitment to delivering exceptional consumer experiences. As the official payment partner, Mastercard patrons can enjoy luxurious keepsakes from Christofle, including a complimentary set of crystal glasses for purchases over S$5,000, and a whisky decanter for purchases over S$8,000.

The premium liquor selections will remain available for purchase on the WOWS online portal until December 2024, featuring rare offerings like the Highland Park 54-Year-Old at S$73,000 and Bowmore Vaults 1971 51-Year-Old at S$62,000.
