On October 18, 2024, at 8:00 PM, the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre (SCCC) will come alive with the vibrant sounds of local street buskers as it presents its first-ever TGIF Music Station: Buskers Edition. This special edition marks a new chapter in the popular TGIF Music Station series, which has been showcasing local Mandopop talents since its launch in 2018.
Held monthly on Friday nights, TGIF Music Station is a free program designed to spotlight both emerging and established Singaporean musicians. The event aims to foster greater appreciation for local talent, bring energy to the Central Business District, and instill pride in Singapore’s arts and culture.
Since its inception, TGIF Music Station has hosted 152 sessions, featuring 496 local artists, and attracted over 53,000 participants and 6 million online views through live streams on platforms like Facebook and TikTok.
For the October 2024 edition, 10 local buskers will take the stage, including young talents like 11-year-old Lyla Ng and senior groups such as Silver Hype, featuring Gillian Goh (69) and Davidson Teo (65). Popular buskers who have released singles and EPs, such as WHYLUCAS and Jeff Ng, will also perform.
Presented by SCCC and produced by Cross Ratio Entertainment, the event is supported by YES 933, 8world Entertainment and Lifestyle, and KKBOX.
