Taobao has introduced a much-anticipated English-language interface, making it easier for Singapore users to shop in their preferred language. Starting today, users can seamlessly toggle between the English and Chinese versions on the familiar Taobao app.
This update reflects Taobao’s commitment to serving its diverse Singaporean customer base, who have long requested an English interface. By removing the need for manual translations, the platform now offers a more accessible and convenient shopping experience for non-Chinese speakers.
Singapore is the first market to enjoy this new feature, alongside neighboring Malaysia. The English interface offers several user-friendly updates, including Singapore Dollar (SGD) price conversion, AI-powered English product descriptions, and a simplified user interface tailored to local preferences. These changes ensure a smooth shopping journey from browsing to checkout.
At launch, the English interface will spotlight trending products, with plans to expand its product categories over time to match the variety and affordability of the Chinese version.
To celebrate the launch, Taobao is offering exciting limited-time deals for Singapore shoppers:
The updated Taobao app with the English interface is now available for download on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Existing users can log in with their current credentials, with order history and saved addresses accessible in the English version (orders placed before the update will remain in Chinese).
Now, Singaporeans can shop on Taobao with greater ease and enjoy a shopping experience tailored to their needs.
