Prepare to witness history as Singapore’s 12-year-old piano prodigy, Mikkel Myer Lee, takes on one of classical music’s most monumental challenges. On December 3, 2024, at the School of the Arts Singapore (SOTA), Mikkel will kick off the first installment of “Beethoven: The Complete 32 Piano Sonatas Part One.” This ambitious project spans eight concerts over three years, where Mikkel will perform all 32 of Beethoven’s iconic piano sonatas, making him the youngest musician globally to do so.
Mikkel’s extraordinary talent, marked by perfect pitch, has already garnered international acclaim. He was the youngest participant in Switzerland’s prestigious Verbier Festival and has won numerous international piano competitions across Europe and the United States. By age 9, he made history as the youngest pianist to publicly perform Chopin’s 24 Preludes Op. 28, followed by becoming the youngest globally to perform both of Chopin’s piano concertos at age 10.
In this upcoming concert, Mikkel will perform four of Beethoven’s profound sonatas: Piano Sonata No. 6, No. 11, No. 31, and the beloved Piano Sonata No. 14, known as “Moonlight.” These works, composed throughout Beethoven’s life, showcase his evolving style and remain some of the most challenging in the piano repertoire.
Supported by the Foundation for The Arts & Social Enterprise, and with APRW as the official publicity partner, this concert is a must-see for classical music enthusiasts. Tickets are available on Book My Show website.
