The GGR is more than just a run—it’s a call to action for sustainability. Aligned with Singapore’s Green Plan 2030 and four of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (Good Health and Wellbeing, Sustainable Cities and Communities, Responsible Consumption and Production, and Climate Action), the event aims to inspire individuals, corporations, and communities to adopt sustainability-focused lifestyles. With Senior Parliamentary Secretary Baey Yam Keng attending as the Guest of Honour and the Singapore Environment Council as the Certification Partner, the GGR is set to make a meaningful impact.

Participants can choose between a 5km or 10km run, making it accessible to all ages and fitness levels. The minimum age for the 5km and 10km categories has been lowered to 7 and 13 years old, respectively, allowing more families to participate. The 10km run kicks off at 7:45 a.m., followed by the 5km at 8:15 a.m., both starting from Marina Barrage. Registration is priced at $48 for the 5km run and $58 for the 10km. Runners will receive an intertek-certified jersey and a unique finisher’s medal made from recycled wood. Additionally, for every registration, $2 will be donated to Community Chest, supporting over 100 social service agencies in Singapore.

This year’s GGR also features an expanded Green Bazaar, running from October 12 to 13, with over 50 stalls offering sustainable food, pre-loved and vintage retail, and hands-on workshops. The event welcomes new partners, including myhalo, a zero e-waste sustainability platform, and Omoda, a global automotive brand. As the Official E-Waste Impact Partner, myhalo will offer exclusive services like custom-cut screen protectors, while Omoda will showcase its all-electric Cat A car for the first time in Singapore.

Exciting prizes are up for grabs in the Lucky Green Draw on October 12, including trips to Lahti, Finland, and Bhutan, courtesy of the Ministry of Tourism, Bhutan. Participants can also win Brompton bicycles, renowned for their sustainability focus. To enter the draw, runners need to drop the tear-off portion of their race bib into a designated box at the event. Winners will be selected on the spot and must present their race bib to claim their prizes. But the fun doesn’t stop there—weekly giveaways are happening now on GGR’s Facebook and Instagram.

As the presenting sponsor, CIMB Singapore continues its commitment to sustainability. A leader in the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) agenda, CIMB has set ambitious goals, including mobilizing RM100 billion in sustainable finance by 2024. As of December 2023, CIMB has already achieved over RM80 billion, showcasing its dedication to creating a sustainable future.
