Sprint Fest 2024 Sets New Records, Thrills Thousands Over Two Action-Packed Weekends

The engines roared, the crowd cheered, and Sprint Fest 2024 roared into the spotlight with a resounding success. Organized by 2+1 Concepts, this year’s event not only doubled the excitement but also shattered attendance records, setting a new benchmark for local motorsport events in Singapore.

Building on the success of last year’s inaugural event, which attracted over 6,000 attendees, Sprint Fest 2024 drew an astonishing 14,500 participants across two weekends, marking a 142% increase in attendance. Held on 27-28 July and 3-4 August, the festival delivered a high-octane blend of motorsport competitions, car showcases, and vibrant entertainment, creating an unforgettable experience for all ages.

Highlight: Sprint Fest MSS National Auto Gymkhana Championship

One of the standout features of Sprint Fest 2024 was the Sprint Fest MSS National Auto Gymkhana Championship, where top drivers showcased their precision and skill. The championship unfolded across two rounds, with Round 1 on 28 July and Round 2 on 3 August, culminating in the National Driver Selection Race on 4 August. A fierce lineup of 23 professional drivers navigated challenging courses, demonstrating remarkable agility as they maneuvered through obstacles.

In Round 1, 12 drivers emerged victorious across six competitive categories: Front Wheel Drive, Rear Wheel Drive, Classics, Open, One-Make, and Team. The competition set the stage for an electrifying continuation into Round 2, where the energy ramped up even further with the introduction of the Night Stage for Auto Gymkhana Races, leaving spectators awestruck by the drivers’ speed and precision.

Among the standout performers was Chase Lim (@chase_attack_tsuiso), who claimed five awards and secured the Eliminator Champion title in Round 1. Melvin Lim (@ivielvin000) also captured four victories, while Ivan Lim (@ivan_lim_shengli) dominated the National Selection Race and took home the Eliminator Champion title in Round 2, bringing the championship to a spectacular close.

New Additions and Special Showcases

Sprint Fest 2024 also introduced its first-ever Auto Gymkhana Open Practice Sessions, where passionate drivers with valid licenses had the chance to test their skills on the same circuits used for the championship. Adding to the excitement, Glenn Lum, Co-Founder of 2+1 Concepts, unveiled Sprint Fest’s first project car: a rare 2004 Suzuki Ignis Sports. As the only one of its kind in Singapore and one of just a few hundred remaining worldwide, this automotive gem wowed attendees with its sporty performance and rally heritage.

Car enthusiasts were treated to a stunning array of Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) vehicles on 27 July and iconic classic cars on 4 August. The event transformed Beach Station Carpark and Sentosa Palawan Green into a vibrant showcase of automotive excellence. JDM Classics SG and Silver sponsor GTR Technologies played a significant role in this spectacle, with GTR Technologies unveiling its legendary Mazda RX-7, drawing admiration from the crowd. The excitement peaked with the Pop and Bang event, featuring dynamic displays and roaring engines.

Entertainment and Activities for All Ages

Sprint Fest 2024 was not just about motorsports; it also offered a wide range of entertainment for attendees of all ages. The event featured performances by local talents, including Daniel Ong and Seow Ting from CurryPop Music (@currypopmusic), the Diabetic Duo with Sope (@sopesmusic) and Amanda Long (@musicianmandy), and other talented musicians like Rachel (@angelrevenges), Yi Sheng (@yisheng2205), Tingzhi (@tingzhi.hz) from Little Band Plus, Adia Tay (@adiatayyt), and Jukuleles (@jukuleles).

Attendees were also captivated by magic tricks from award-winning Singaporean magician Tommy Kian (@tommymagician), a devil stick stage act by Jay from Circus in Motion (@circusinmotion), and comedic juggling by Mr. Bee (@mrbeecircus).

In addition to the performances, Sprint Fest 2024 offered a variety of activities, including arcade machines, carnival games, race simulators, a Mini-Z 1/28 race track, and joyrides with professional drivers, ensuring fun for the whole family.

A Successful Collaboration

Sprint Fest 2024 was made possible thanks to the generous support of its sponsors, including Gold Sponsors Elf, MotorCheckUp, Yokohama, and Toyo Tires; Silver Sponsor GTR Technologies; and Bronze Sponsors Asia Powerboat Championship and Level Up Performance. The event also received support from partners such as Sentosa, Motor Sports Singapore, 5RC, SIM Fai Solutions, and The Arcade People.
