PEDALFEST Singapore, the nation’s largest cycling festival, returns for its second edition on August 25, 2024 (Sunday) at OCBC Square, Singapore Sports Hub. This event promises a full day of festivities, exciting performances, and opportunities to connect with cyclists from around the region.
Organized by local sports marketing agency Firefly Connections, PEDALFEST aims to bring together cyclists from diverse backgrounds, fostering new friendships through various cycling-related activities, wellness talks, workshops, and films.
In celebration of Singapore’s 59th National Day and to promote green commuting, this year’s festival introduces a 59km Ride to PEDALFEST. Cyclists are encouraged to dress in red and white and join the community ride starting from PAssion Wave @ East Coast.
Making its debut at PEDALFEST is Bike Scouts Philippines, a non-profit social network of cyclists involved in disaster relief efforts, environmental conservation, and community engagement. Formed in response to Typhoon Haiyan in 2013, Bike Scouts Philippines has grown into a nationwide movement addressing critical environmental issues.
PEDALFEST 2024 will also feature Green Upcycling Workshops, teaching participants how to repurpose bicycle parts into art for their homes.
Malaysian cartoonist Azmi Hussin returns to showcase his BMX flatland skills and bicycle-themed artwork, sharing his journey as an artist.
Cycling enthusiasts can enjoy a screening of “MAMIL (Middle Age Men in Lycra),” a film narrated by legendary Tour de France commentator Phil Liggett. The film explores the passion of middle-aged men for riding high-end carbon bikes, a sentiment shared by many weekend cyclists in Singapore.
At the Ciclo e Caffe & Vintage Bike Showcase, cyclists can share stories and admire vintage bicycles from personal collections. Additional activities include free bike health checks, safe cycling workshops for children aged 6 to 12, and sessions with high-performance coaches and sports therapists.
All-day festival passes are priced at S$25, while the RIDE TO PEDALFEST Ride Pass (59km) is S$55. The first 500 participants to purchase a Ride Pass will receive a special-edition PEDALFEST tee and a Festive Pack upon completing the ride. Children aged 12 and under enter for free when accompanied by an adult with a Festival or Ride Pass. Tickets are available on Peatix.
