Punggol is set to come alive with vibrant celebrations as it gears up for Singapore’s 59th National Day. Residents can look forward to a host of activities, including bouncy castles, family-fun events, and a live screening of the National Day Parade (NDP). The festivities will take place at the One Punggol integrated community hub on August 3 and 9, followed by Heartland Celebrations near Punggol MRT on August 10.
On Saturday, August 3, and Friday, August 9, One Punggol will be the epicenter of fun and excitement. The community hub will host a variety of family-friendly activities and a live screening of the NDP at Celebration Square.
The celebrations on August 3 will feature an array of entertainment, including stage performances, movie screenings, fitness workouts, and arts & crafts workshops. Families can enjoy bouncy castles, arcade games, and more. Highlights include the Candy House Bouncy, Rainbow Bear Ballpit, Flash Dash, and Basketball arcade games. Craft enthusiasts can participate in activities like making DIY Merlion plushies, paper puppet dragons, and Red Lion parachuters.
In the evening, local busking group Voltera will lead a heartwarming sing-along session titled “A Fun Night of Singing,” performing beloved National Day tunes such as “Home” and “Di Tanjong Katong.” It’s the perfect opportunity to gather family and friends and join in the patriotic spirit.
On August 9, the public can enjoy carnival activities and a live screening of the NDP at Celebration Square from 5 PM. The highlight of the evening will be the State Flag Flypast, featuring two RSAF Chinook helicopters and two RSAF Apache helicopters, scheduled to pass through the Punggol district between 5:45 PM and 6:30 PM. Six F-16s will also conduct a flypast from around 6 PM to 6:30 PM.
Admission is free for all.
The celebrations continue on Saturday, August 10, at the Heartland Celebration @ Punggol, located at an open field beside Punggol MRT. This event will feature community group performances, static displays of SAF, SCDF, and SPF vehicles, fireworks displays, carnival games, and other family activities.
Attendees will also receive NDP packs, available while stocks last.
