Aloft Singapore Novena, the world’s largest Aloft hotel and Singapore’s pioneering music-inspired venue, is making waves in the local music scene. Celebrating World Music Day on June 21, the hotel reaffirmed its commitment to supporting homegrown talent through its signature Live @ Aloft programme.
Since its inception, Live @ Aloft has showcased over 20 local musicians and bands, surpassing 100 hours of live performances. This initiative serves as a crucial launchpad for budding local artists in a city where pursuing a full-time music career can be challenging.
Aligning with the National Arts Council’s Our SG Arts Plan 2023-2027, Live @ Aloft aims to reach 200 hours of live performances featuring local artists by the end of the year. This commitment underscores Aloft Singapore Novena’s role in nurturing a vibrant music scene, providing regular performance opportunities that help artists connect with new audiences and foster a thriving local music community.
Between February and July, Live @ Aloft will feature AGOPSG, a distinguished band led by professional singer Jeremy Han. Known for their versatility, AGOPSG has been featured on media platforms such as CNA and 93.8Live. Transitioning from paid gigs like weddings and corporate events, the band now has a dedicated platform at Aloft Singapore Novena to showcase their passion for music.
Aloft Singapore Novena has previously spotlighted prominent and up-and-coming local artists like AnchorBlanc, Psquare Band, and Singapore Idol 2004 finalist Maia Lee. In the coming months, the programme will feature performances by Karis Goh and Jonelle Lim, who will cover popular songs and bring unique renditions of contemporary hits and timeless classics. These performances promise to create a dynamic and engaging atmosphere, highlighting the incredible diversity of musical talent within Singapore.
As the hospitality industry increasingly focuses on creating unique and culturally rich experiences, Aloft Singapore Novena stands out with its music-centric theme. The hotel features Yuè at Aloft, a musically themed modern Chinese restaurant where every dish is named after iconic Chinese song titles. Guests can also enjoy specially curated playlists within their hotel rooms, among other initiatives that connect guests and cultures while empowering local artists.
Aloft Singapore Novena serves as a melting pot of cultures, bringing people together through the universal language of music. This identity demonstrates the hotel’s dedication to providing a culturally rich experience for guests, setting it apart as a hotel that breaks the travel and hospitality mould by design.
