AirAsia X Expands into Africa with New Route Connecting Singapore and Nairobi

AirAsia X (AAX) has announced a groundbreaking new route to Africa, enabling seamless Fly-Thru travel between Singapore and Nairobi, Kenya. This route, which includes a brief stop in Kuala Lumpur, marks a significant milestone for AAX as the only low-cost carrier in Malaysia to offer direct connectivity to Nairobi, Kenya’s capital.

Launching on 15 November 2024

The inaugural flight is set for 15 November 2024. This new route follows a strong start to the year for AAX, highlighted by robust financial results and a resurgence in market leadership. Earlier in March, AAX introduced flights to Almaty, Kazakhstan, marking its first venture into Central Asia.

Strengthening Asia-Africa Connectivity

The new Nairobi route is crucial in enhancing trade, tourism, and business ties between Asia and Africa. AAX will offer seamless Fly-Thru connections, linking Kenya to 130 destinations across Southeast Asia, Northern and Central Asia, and Australia. This move underscores AAX’s commitment to providing affordable and convenient travel options while bolstering global connectivity.

Promotional Fares and Booking Information

To celebrate this new route, thrill-seekers and nature enthusiasts in Singapore can take advantage of a promotional all-in-one-way fare starting from SGD 332 for travel between Singapore and Nairobi via Kuala Lumpur. This special fare is available exclusively on the AirAsia MOVE app (formerly the airasia Superapp) until July 7, 2024, for travel between November 15, 2024, and October 8, 2025.

The all-in fares include fuel surcharge, relevant taxes, and fees, with additional terms and conditions applying.

Discover Nairobi

Nairobi, located in the heart of Kenya, is renowned for its lush greenery, expansive grass plains, and diverse wildlife. Tourists flock to the city to witness the near-extinct Northern White Rhino and the Great Migration in the Masai Mara. Beyond its natural wonders, Nairobi is a bustling metropolis with vibrant nightlife, rich cultural heritage, and a variety of flavorful culinary delights influenced by its diverse cultures and traditions.

With this new route, AAX is set to bring the wonders of Nairobi closer to Singaporean travelers, offering an unforgettable adventure in one of Africa’s most captivating destinations.
