Nikon Singapore Pte. Ltd. has announced the launch of its latest high-performance camera, the Z6III. This new model, inspired by the acclaimed Z9 and Z8, promises to deliver exceptional specifications and performance in the full-frame mid-range category.
The Z6III features the world’s first partially-stacked CMOS sensor, enabling 3.5x faster readouts than its predecessor, the Z6II. This advancement supports high-speed continuous shooting, including Pre-Release Capture at up to 120 fps in DX format and 60 fps in FX format with 24 MP resolution.
Equipped with a bright, high-resolution electronic viewfinder (EVF) boasting 4000 cd/m² brightness and 5760k dots, the Z6III ensures smooth views for capturing fast-moving subjects. The EVF’s 60 fps refresh rate enhances high-speed continuous shooting capabilities.
For videographers, the Z6III offers Full HD/240p for up to 10x slow-motion video creation, recording in 10-bit H.265 for greater flexibility in speed and color grading. The camera supports 12-bit ProRes RAW HQ and N-RAW formats, accommodating resolutions up to 6K.
The Z6III is designed for rugged environments, with a body constructed from carbon fiber, magnesium alloy, and effective sealing, making it operational in temperatures as low as -10 degrees Celsius. Enhanced heat dissipation and power efficiency allow for up to 125 minutes of 4K UHD/60p recording, making it ideal for events such as weddings and live concerts.
The Z6III offers customizable settings similar to the Z8, with a range of AF-area mode assignments. Its superior autofocus performance includes detection of nine types of subjects, improved face detection, and faster shooting times in various scenes.
Complementing the Z6III is the new MB-N14 Power Battery Pack, providing an optional boost in power capacity for extended shooting sessions.
The Z6III introduces Flexible Colour Picture Control, allowing users to adjust light and colors to match their creative vision. This feature can be used with Nikon’s NX Studio software, enabling the export and registration of Custom Picture Controls for real-time preview during shooting.
Additionally, the Nikon Imaging Cloud service supports new Imaging Recipes and facilitates automatic image uploads and firmware updates via Wi-Fi, enhancing the convenience of image storage and sharing.
