Universal Studios Singapore Launches Mega Despicable Summer Event to Celebrate Despicable Me 4 Release

Universal Studios Singapore at Resorts World Sentosa is gearing up for a spectacular summer celebration with the release of Illumination’s Despicable Me 4. From July 1 to August 11, 2024, visitors can immerse themselves in the world of Minions with a host of exciting activities, new shows, and exclusive merchandise.

Mega Minions and Gru’s Family

New York Street will be transformed with towering Mega Minion inflatables, each showcasing their unique superpowers. Guests can snap photos with these larger-than-life characters, including laser-blasting Mega Mel, super-strong Mega Dave, flying Mega Gus, and indestructible Mega Jerry. Additionally, visitors can capture memorable moments with Gru’s family – Gru, Lucy, and their daughters Margo, Edith, and Agnes – at the Lagoon Stage.

Minionvasion Flash Mob

The Anti-Villain League (AVL) Minions are set to take over New York Street with a high-energy Minionvasion flash mob. Guests can enjoy the lively dance performance and participate in a meet-and-greet at the New York Public Library.

Mission: MEGA Show

In the new show Mission: MEGA, the AVL seeks volunteers to test their latest Mega technology, transforming them into Mega humans. However, unexpected challenges arise, and it’s up to Kevin, Stuart, and the AVL to prevent a Mega disaster. After the show, guests can meet Kevin, Stuart, and the newly minted Mega humans at the New York Public Library.

Exclusive Merchandise and Themed Treats

Visitors can shop for exclusive Despicable Me 4 merchandise at the Universal Studios Store and Minion Mart, featuring apparel, plushies, fart blasters, and action figures. The theme park’s select restaurants and carts will offer themed treats such as burgers, pizza, cupcakes, macarons, and popcorn. Participating outlets include Pops! Popcorn Delights, Mel’s Drive-In, Star Snacks, KT’s Grill, and Loui’s NY Pizza Parlor.

New UNIVRS Store

The newly opened UNIVRS store will feature exclusive merchandise inspired by popular Universal characters. The Summer 2024 launch includes fan favorites like Woody Woodpecker, Hot Stuff, Back to the Future, and collaborations such as Felix the Cat x Mister Cartoon and Minions x Buff Monster. The store, located in the former The Brown Derby in the Hollywood zone, offers seasonally released items in limited quantities.

Ticket Information

A Mega Despicable Summer event is included with regular admission to Universal Studios Singapore, with tickets starting at S$74 for adults and S$59 for children. Starting June 10, tickets will include a S$5 meal voucher and a S$5 retail voucher. Guests can also enjoy the park’s adrenaline-infused rides, world-class attractions, and entertainment.
