The much-anticipated Ocean Fest is back at Resorts World Sentosa’s S.E.A. Aquarium for its fifth edition, running from May 20 to July 19. This year’s theme, “Righting the Future,” aligns with World Oceans Day, offering a blend of exploration, education, and enchantment.
Immerse yourself in a breathtaking underwater photography gallery featuring the work of award-winning Singaporean photographer Toh Xing Jie. Known for his evocative images that highlight the hidden treasures of Singapore’s waters, Xing Jie’s exhibit will showcase rare marine species such as gobies and nudibranchs. His celebrated photograph of a nautilus entangled in a plastic bag, which earned him top honors at the 2023 Nature Photographer of the Year awards, will also be on display.
Visitors can test their skills on an innovative arcade game crafted entirely from repurposed cardboard by Paper Carpenter. The Marine Conservation Quest is a pinball-inspired game where players guide marine animals through an ocean of trash, emphasizing the importance of ocean conservation in a fun and engaging way.
Ocean Fest also features a series of expert talks held at the Ocean Dome and online, offering deep dives into the fascinating world of marine life:
These talks are free for S.E.A. Aquarium ticket holders who register in advance here, with limited seating available on a first-come, first-served basis. Additional audiences can join the talks online.
A distinctive video wall will present personal stories from Singaporeans, highlighting their meaningful encounters with the sea, from swimming with turtles to participating in beach clean-ups. These narratives aim to foster a deeper connection with the ocean and a commitment to its preservation.
In conjunction with International Horseshoe Crab Day on June 20, the aquarium will host the 5th International Workshop on the Science and Conservation of Horseshoe Crabs. An educational booth will provide insights into the biology and conservation of these ancient creatures, with opportunities to learn about local conservation initiatives and synthetic alternatives to horseshoe crab blood.
Ocean Fest 2024: Righting the Future is included with regular S.E.A. Aquarium admission, with tickets priced at $41 for adults and $31 for children.
Dive into the wonders of the ocean and be inspired to protect our precious marine ecosystems.
