OUE Wins Tender to Develop New Hotel with “Floating Forest” concept at Changi Airport Terminal 2

Changi Airport Group (CAG) has awarded SGX Mainboard-listed OUE Limited (OUE) the tender for the lease and development of a brand-new hotel at Changi Airport Terminal 2 (T2). The announcement, made today, reveals plans for the new hotel, named Hotel Indigo Changi Airport, expected to be fully operational by 2028.

The upcoming hotel promises to redefine airport accommodations with its innovative design elements and modern facilities. Boasting 255 rooms and stretching 163 meters long, Hotel Indigo Changi Airport will feature a rooftop day club, bar, and infinity pool offering breathtaking panoramic views of the runway, airport boulevard, and skyline. The hotel’s design concept, dubbed “Floating Forest,” will incorporate layers of lush rainforest and hanging epiphytes spanning over seven storeys, creating a truly unique and immersive environment.

Hotel Indigo Changi Airport aims to prioritize sustainability, with plans to achieve operational energy neutrality through various eco-friendly features. These include solar photovoltaic panels, hybrid cooling systems, naturally ventilated corridors, and rainwater-harvesting technology, all aimed at reducing environmental impact while enhancing guest comfort and well-being.

The addition of Hotel Indigo Changi Airport will complement existing accommodations within Changi Airport’s landside, including YOTELAIR at Jewel Changi Airport and the award-winning Crowne Plaza Changi Airport located at Terminal 3, both of which are owned and leased by OUE Group.
