MUJI’s ‘small MUJI exhibition – Enjoying Everyday Items’ will be hosted at Open MUJI Plaza Singapura from April 26 to June 25, 2024, showcasing the extraordinary artwork of Tatsuya Tanaka, a master of miniature photography and mitate artistry.
Mitate, a concept rooted in viewing everyday objects from a fresh perspective, takes center stage in the ‘small MUJI exhibition,’ illuminating the diverse worlds of objects and life with a playful and unrestrained spirit.
Featuring 16 original miniature works crafted using MUJI products, alongside three custom pieces inspired by Singapore’s iconic landmarks such as Marina Bay Sands and Gardens by the Bay, this exhibition promises to captivate visitors with its creativity, whimsy, and humor. MUJI products, known for their simplicity and functionality, become the canvas for Tanaka’s imagination, showcasing necessity stripped of excess.
Singapore joins Japan and Finland as only the third country to host the ‘small MUJI exhibition’ since its debut in 2019, highlighting the city-state’s growing significance as a hub for art and culture.
To mark the launch of the exhibition, Tatsuya Tanaka himself will be in Singapore for a meet and greet session on April 26 at Café&Meal MUJI Plaza Singapura. Although tickets for the talk are already sold out, the public can still immerse themselves in Tanaka’s captivating creations from April 26 to June 25, 2024.
Don’t miss this opportunity to experience the magic of Tatsuya Tanaka’s miniature world, where everyday items are transformed into extraordinary works of art. Head to Open MUJI Plaza Singapura and prepare to be inspired by the whimsical wonder of ‘small MUJI exhibition – Enjoying Everyday Items.’
