Jeff Connon, with a distinguished twenty-year career at London’s renowned The Groucho Club, joins Mandala Club as the new General Manager. Connon’s expertise in hospitality and creating vibrant communities aligns perfectly with Mandala Club’s vision of curating exceptional experiences for its members. Under his leadership, the Club aims to elevate its service standards and revolutionize the essence of hospitality by focusing on pillars such as community, arts, play, wellbeing, purpose, and sustainability.
This announcement follows the appointment of Lilly Milligan Gilbert as the Club’s Chief Sustainability Officer in September 2023, reinforcing Mandala Club’s dedication to environmental stewardship and social responsibility.
Expanding Global Offerings and Climate Action Commitment
In addition to bolstering its leadership team, Mandala Club continues to expand its global offerings and prioritize climate action. In late 2023, the Club launched a four-month residence in Niseko Village, Hokkaido, Japan, in collaboration with YTL Hotels, offering members world-class experiences in a ski-in ski-out clubhouse.
Looking ahead to 2024, Mandala Club plans to introduce new destinations and initiatives, with Bali being a key focus. These developments reflect the Club’s commitment to fostering conversation, creation, celebration, and connection among its members.
Furthermore, Mandala Club has emerged as a leader in sustainability within Singapore’s hospitality sector. In 2023, the Club became the first hospitality outfit to join the United Nations’ Race to Zero campaign through the SME Climate Hub. Additionally, it joined the One Percent for the Planet campaign, demonstrating its dedication to reducing its environmental footprint.
As of 2023, Mandala Club has achieved carbon neutrality for the carbon emissions it directly controls, implementing energy efficiency programs and partnering with eco-tech company Green Steps for nature regeneration. The Club has also made significant contributions to environmental conservation efforts, planting over 2,016 trees in the Mandala Forest and collecting more than 6,821kg of ocean plastics through partnerships with environmental impact startup Seven Clean Seas.
