Singaporeans are in for a treat as Korea’s leading Ramyun brand, Nongshim, collaborates with Wong Fu Fu, Singapore’s first Halal-certified Taiwan-inspired restaurant, to introduce a limited-time Pop-up Pocha concept. This exciting collaboration celebrates the launch of Nongshim’s newest Shin Stir Fry product range, featuring the Shin Stir Fry Ramyun and Shin Stir Fry Cheese Ramyun.
If you are new to Wong Fu Fu, it is a wallet-friendly, halal, casual restaurant that serves Taiwanese cuisine in the city centre. It is best known for its unlimited bubble tea and snacks when you order any hot plate mains.
With the Nongshim collaboration, Wong Fu Fu is serving up Korean-inspired dishes as well. The Wong Fu Fu X Nongshim Pop-up Pocha is now available at the restaurant, offering an exclusively created selection of three dishes inspired by both brands and Korean cuisine:
Indulge in deep-fried Stir Fry Shin Spicy Ramyun seafood croquettes, complemented by crispy Korean chicken and fries seasoned with chili and lime. The dish comes paired with Wong Fu Fu’s in-house special mala mayo sauce.
Experience a twist on the traditional Korean kimchi pancake with Nongshim Stir Fry Shin Ramyun as the base, topped with kimchi and crab meat, perfect for sharing.
Cheese enthusiasts will delight in this sizzling cheesy omelette featuring Stir Fry Shin Cheese Ramyun.
We were invited for a dinner tasting whereby we tried the kimchi pancake, the cheesy omelette, along with other Wong Fu Fu signatures like their truffle beef noodle and shaved ice:
I love Nongshim Ramyum as a comfort food, but I was not too sure how Wong Fu Fu’s interpretations would deliver. Thankfully, the two items we tried did not disappoint. Both dishes were strong in flavour and texture. For those who like spicy food, go for the kimchi pancake. For those with a sweet tooth, you will find delight in the cheesy omelette. The chewy texture of the Ramyum adds to the overall appeal for both dishes.
I ate at Wong Fu Fu with my son, Asher, who is a rather small eater. I was surprised that he wolfed down the whole bowl of truffle beef noodles and the strawberry shaved ice, not to mention the snacks from the buffet line and several cups of bubble tea. He had a lot of fun customising his bubble tea with several different ingredients to choose from.
Dining at Wong Fu Fu reminds me of my student days when going for a buffet dinner like this was a big treat for me and my school friends. The winning formula here is to serve up loads of comfort food and Wong Fu Fu has got it right. With Chinese New Year just around the corner, consider heading down to Wong Fu Fu for a wallet-friendly and fun, casual dinner, made even more delightful with the limited time Nongshim creations.
To celebrate the collaboration between the two brands, 15 lucky winners get to walk aay with $50 worth of Nongshim products each.
For those looking for a chance to win, simply follow these steps:
The contest closes at the end of the promotional campaign and the results will be announced on 1 April 2024, through Wong Fu Fu’s official social media channels.
