Nestled in the heart of Southeast Asia, Vietnam and Cambodia have long been bound by a tapestry of history, culture, and shared aspirations. In a landmark moment, Vietjet, the dynamic airline synonymous with affordable travel, announced the inauguration of a direct route linking the enchanting capital of Vietnam, Hanoi, to the captivating heritage city of Cambodia, Siem Reap.
The grand unveiling took place amid the vibrant ambiance of the Vietnam-Cambodia Investment and Trade Promotion Forum in Hanoi. Distinguished guests, including Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet, gathered to witness this historic occasion. Ministries, departments, and businesses from both nations added to the celebratory atmosphere.
Expressing his anticipation for increased international flights, Prime Minister Hun Manet extended his congratulations and high appreciation to Vietjet for pioneering the Hanoi-Siem Reap route. The Prime Minister envisioned a future of enhanced connectivity and hoped for more flight services that would seamlessly bridge the two nations.
Come 15 December 2023, Vietjet will commence operations on the Hanoi-Siem Reap route, offering seven round-trip flights per week, each leg taking a mere 1 hour and 45 minutes. Travelers can anticipate a delightful journey aboard Vietjet’s modern fleet, where they will be treated to a selection of rich Vietnamese cuisine, including Banh mi, Pho, and locally brewed coffee. The dedicated and friendly flight crews ensure a pleasant and comfortable flying experience.
The inaugural ceremony marks the beginning of a new chapter at Siem Reap-Angkor International Airport, Cambodia’s largest airport, conveniently located approximately 50km from the city center and 40km from the renowned Angkor archaeological site.
Hanoi, Vietnam’s thousand-year-old capital, is a treasure trove of cultural and historical wonders. From the picturesque Hoan Kiem Lake to the iconic Long Bien Bridge, and the bustling Hanoi 36 streets adorned with world-famous street foods, the city promises an immersive experience.
