Get ready to witness a groundbreaking fusion of mainstream and alternative cinema as Golden Village (GV) and The Projector (TP) join forces to create an unparalleled entertainment experience at Cineleisure, Orchard Road.
The much-anticipated GV x TP collaboration, set to open its doors on 28 December, promises a cinematic haven for movie enthusiasts and art aficionados alike.
Step into a realm where mainstream meets alternative, as GV x TP brings together GV’s blockbuster expertise and TP’s diverse selection of international film festivals, live events, and independent films, all conveniently housed under one roof. With a total of six halls – three programmed by GV and three by TP – this new cinematic space on Level 5 and 6 of Cineleisure offers over 1,400 seats. Paying homage to local cinema heritage, TP’s halls are named Majestic, Yangtze, and Roxy after defunct local cinemas.
GV x TP introduces two new event spaces that go beyond traditional cinema offerings. Room 237, tucked behind the bar on Level 5, is a flexible event space with six digital screens, ideal for digital art displays or intimate gatherings of up to 50 people. Named after the iconic room in “The Shining,” it exudes a cozy ambiance.
For larger events, the Ruby Lounge on Level 6 offers high ceilings and city views, accommodating up to 150 people.
Corporate or public events can consider takeovers of No Spoilers Bar, catering to up to 250 standing attendees.
No Spoilers Bar, a familiar favorite from The Projector’s pop-up at The Cathay, now finds its permanent home at GV x TP. Operating under TP, this full bar not only serves a variety of cinema snacks but also doubles as a live music venue on Fridays and Saturdays from 10.30pm till late. Indulge in an elevated menu featuring Chilli Cheese Fries, Poutine Fries, gourmet hotdogs, grilled sandwiches, and a delectable 10-inch pizza selection, including options like the classic Margherita and the special Chicken and Pesto.
For those seeking a more formal dining experience, No Spoilers Dining, a 44-seater restaurant on Level 5, offers contemporary Southeast Asian cuisine. Headed by Chef Girda “Dot” Bandi, known for her 15 years at Timbre Music venues, the menu includes unique dishes like Kacang Pool and Salted Egg Brussels Sprouts, followed by mouthwatering mains such as Rendang Braised Beef Short Ribs and Perchik Cornish Hen.
To mark the opening, Golden Village will present anticipated titles such as “Wonka” and “Napoleon,” introducing adjusted ticket prices for screenings at Cineleisure. Adult tickets will start at $10.50 for Monday to Thursday and $15 for weekend sessions, with GV Movie Club members enjoying a $2 discount throughout the week.
As part of the opening festivities:
From December 3 to December 8, patrons can redeem a Free GV Movie Pass with every purchase of four or more GV tickets.
From December 11 to December 13 and December 18 to December 20, GV will offer $3 movie screenings for selected titles.
The Projector will showcase a curated selection of independent and arthouse titles at GV x TP, accompanied by a series of live events, including Kampong Boogie, Yoga Bloc Party, and the EATMEPOPTART Party.
