In a magical event that set the skies ablaze, Hong Kong Disneyland recently hosted ‘A Spectacular Celebration of World of Frozen,’ paving the way for the grand opening of the world’s first ‘Frozen’-themed land – World of Frozen. Guests from across the globe were treated to an immersive journey into the enchanting kingdom of Arendelle, inspired by the iconic Walt Disney Animation Studios’ films ‘Frozen’ and ‘Frozen 2,’ which have left an indelible mark as two of the most beloved animated films of all time.
The celebration unfolded along the mesmerizing Bay of Arendelle within the World of Frozen, as guests eagerly anticipated the official opening of this cinematic and living land. Special guests, including Robert Iger, Chief Executive Officer of The Walt Disney Company, Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Experiences, Jill Estorino, President and Managing Director of Disney Parks International, Michael Moriarty, Managing Director of Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, and Jennifer Lee, Chief Creative Officer of Walt Disney Animation Studios, added a touch of magic to the evening.
The Royal Choir of Arendelle took the stage, enchanting the air with a beautiful medley of ‘Frozen’ songs, setting the stage for the grand reveal. As Queen Elsa cast her Ice Magic, summoning Olaf and creating an enchanting atmosphere, Queen Anna proclaimed the opening of the gates of Arendelle, inviting all guests to immerse themselves in a beautiful evening beneath the stars.
The celebration reached its climactic moment with a spectacular lighting show that saw a fleet of drones ascending into the night sky. Forming iconic imagery inspired by the beloved ‘Frozen’ movies, these formations mirrored the intricate patterns of Elsa’s Ice Magic, painting the sky with awe-inspiring displays that left an indelible imprint of wonder for all in attendance.
The much-anticipated World of Frozen is set to open its gates on November 20, offering guests the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in this living land and create memories that will last a lifetime.
The gates will swing open at 11:30 am on the first day of the opening, and guests are encouraged to purchase their tickets in advance and secure a valid park reservation for their visit.
