[Review] Logitech’s New Ergonomic Wave Keys for Comfort and Better Wellbeing

Earlier in October, Global leader in computer peripherals, Logitech, unveiled their Wave Keys and Wave Keys for Business, seeking to address the growing need for workplace comfort and wellbeing.

The new wireless ergonomic keyboard features a unique wave design and an integrated cushioned palm rest, aiming to provide users with a comfortable typing experience while improving overall health and productivity.

As people of all ages spend increasingly more time in front of our computers, ergonomic considerations have gained prominence. According to a recent market report by RationalStat, the ergonomic market is expected to grow by 4.6% over the next seven years, reflecting the rising demand for comfortable workspace solutions.

Art O’Gnimh, the general manager of the Core Personal Workspace business at Logitech, stated, “We believe that everybody deserves to feel good at the end of a day of work, so we set about designing workspace essentials that are as attractive and approachable as they are ergonomic.”

“Wave Keys combines science-driven design and approval from leading ergonomists to make workspace wellbeing a priority.” Added O’Gnimh.

Wave Keys’ distinctive wave shape encourages natural hand positioning for typing. The integrated cushioned palm rest provides essential wrist support throughout the day, contributing to enhanced comfort during extended work hours. The keyboard’s compact layout fits seamlessly on most home or office desks, and it is available in two classic colorways: Graphite and Off-White.

Wave Keys (off-white)

In line with Logitech’s commitment to environmental responsibility, Wave Keys is certified carbon-neutral, just like the company’s other products. The packaging is sourced from FSCTM-certified forests and other controlled sources. Notably, the plastic components of Wave Keys incorporate certified post-consumer recycled plastic, with Graphite containing 61% recycled plastic and Off-White containing 46%. Go for the Graphite version if you would like to contribute a little more to recycling efforts.

Wave Keys is designed to be compatible with multiple operating systems, connecting via Bluetooth or the included Logi BOLT receiver. You can connect up to three devices simultaneously, including Mac, PC, and iPad, and effortlessly switch between them with a simple button tap.

For the more adventurous, the Logi Options+ App is said to provide the ability to customise each user’s experience, creating productivity shortcuts and Smart Actions to streamline workflows.

Wave Keys joins Logitech’s ERGO Series, which includes other products designed to enhance workplace wellbeing, such as the Lift Vertical Ergonomic Mouse. The keyboard’s development involved rigorous user testing at Logitech’s Ergo Lab and has earned the approval of US Ergonomics.

I have been using the off-white version for work, pairing it with my Macbook Pro laptop. The wave shape totally makes sense when you consider how we usually type – with both hands spread out in a bowl shape rather than at a sharp, 90-degree angle. The cushioned palm rest adds on much-needed wrist support, elevating the overall ergonomic appeal of the Wave Keys. Instead of adjusting how we position ourselves based on the shape of our keyboard, it works the other way around naturally for the Wave Keys.

Wave Keys for Business

For companies prioritising employee wellbeing, Wave Keys for Business offers an ergonomic keyboard solution designed for employees who value comfort and familiarity in their typing experience.

Equipped with Logi BOLT secure wireless technology, it allows IT teams to deploy comfortable, user-friendly keyboards to their global workforce, supporting Windows, macOS, Chrome OS, and other leading operating systems. Wave Keys for Business also ensures reliable connectivity in congested wireless environments and complies with stringent enterprise security standards. IT teams can remotely monitor these keyboards through Logitech Sync to ensure the devices are up to date.

Pricing and Availability

Wave Keys are available in Graphite and Off-White from October 13, 2023, for a recommended retail price of SGD 119. You can find it on the Logitech Official Store on Lazada and Shopee, as well as at major offline retailers.
