Exciting news for families and animal lovers! The new KidzWorld, also known as the Home of the Ranger Buddies, was officially launched at the renowned Singapore Zoo. This one-hectare wonderland, inaugurated by Ms. Jane Ittogi and Group CEO of Mandai Wildlife Group, Mr. Mike Barclay, is set to elevate your zoo experience to a whole new level.
KidzWorld continues the Singapore Zoo’s rich tradition of providing a vibrant and educational environment for children and their families. It’s a living classroom where kids can learn about wildlife, animals, and nature while having tons of fun. This latest addition builds on the success of the park’s previous Rainforest KidzWorld (2009) and Children’s World (1991).
At KidzWorld, learning and fun come together seamlessly. The experiences are carefully designed to ignite and nurture a love for animals, wildlife, and the natural world. From interactive play areas to up-close animal encounters, as well as a new water maze, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
One of the most exciting features is KidzWorld’s role as the Home of the Ranger Buddies, an edutainment program aimed at fostering young children into future-ready and responsible global citizens. Through a recently soft-launched Ranger Buddies Quest, kids embark on thrilling phygital missions starting from the Base Camp. Equipped with smart binoculars and a companion app, they journey to three outposts within KidzWorld to discover more about animal health, care, and nutrition. In the coming months, additional missions and outposts will lead the Ranger Buddies on adventures in both Singapore Zoo and River Wonders.
By actively participating in the array of Ranger Buddies activities at KidzWorld, children delve into the core of Ranger Buddies Quest, where they learn about the seven essential C.O.U.R.A.G.E. strengths or life skills. These traits correspond to each zone in KidzWorld, providing an educational and entertaining experience.
In preparation for the 250 animal residents representing 30 different species, including Axis Deer, Sulcata Tortoises, and ferrets, the Animal Behavior and Programs team began conditioning them in June 2023. The migration of these animals to KidzWorld took place on 21 October 2023. Horses and dogs made the move with ease, while deer, chickens, and ducks, assisted by their trainers and motivated by treats, transitioned seamlessly to their new home.
For guests planning their visit, there’s an exciting two-park bundle available. This bundle includes access to both Singapore Zoo and River Wonders, priced at $54 for adults and $38 for children. It’s part of the WildPass promotional bundle and can be purchased from now until 30 December 2023, exclusively for locals and applicable for visits from 1 November to 30 December. More information on the KidzWorld opening campaign is available online.
Additionally, the Ranger Buddies Quest is currently available on Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays, and school holidays. For all the details on this exciting quest and other programs at KidzWorld, refer to the attached factsheet or visit the website.
The launch of the new KidzWorld marks the culmination of the Golden ZOObilee celebrations, which brought over 330,000 guests to Singapore Zoo since May 2023. It featured events and activities like the ART-ZOO Happy ZOObilee Party, Backstage Pass: Incredible Invertebrates tour, and the Mandai Wildlife Run, offering a fantastic time for everyone.
