In this modern and fun adaptation, Cindy (our modern Cinderella) faces the constant pressures of likes, followers, and subscribers. Meanwhile, Charming grapples with the expectations that come with influencer fame and family obligations. And what about the folks in Far Far Away? Are they genuinely happy in the endless cycle of scrolling, swiping, and sharing?
Don’t wait for your Fairy Godmother to appear—get ready to slip on your finest glass slippers, hop into a carriage, and join us for this enchanting musical. “Once Upon A Like” premiered as a short musical in 2018 during a local theater festival, and it’s back with a fantastic local cast to deliver the laughs and entertainment.
This musical was created by the talented Sing’theatre’s Associate Artistic Director TJ Taylor, and the music and lyrics are the work of Composer Luka Bjelis. Since its inception, this dynamic duo has been perfecting their craft, making them masters of the musical theater genre.
“Once Upon A Like” has been updated to include references to TikTok and modern life, capturing the thoughts and feelings of Gen Z and their parents, which are sure to leave the audience in stitches. The cast is comprised of immensely talented Singapore-based performers, and they can’t wait to premiere this brand-new musical.
