Update [20 October 2023]: The 2023 MTV EMAs has been cancelled. Learn more here.
Hey there, music enthusiasts! It’s that time of the year again when the music world gears up for the glitziest and grooviest event of all – the MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs)! And boy, are the 2023 nominations causing a stir in the industry.
Swifties, get ready to scream with joy because our queen, Taylor Swift, is taking the lead with a whopping seven nominations! She’s in the running for “Best Artist,” “Best Song,” and “Best Video.” This girl’s on fire, and we can’t wait to see her rock the EMA stage.
Not too far behind, we’ve got the incredibly talented Olivia Rodrigo and the sensational SZA, each scoring six nominations! They’re battling it out with Taylor in the “Best Artist,” “Best Song,” and “Best Video” categories. It’s anyone’s game, folks!
Doja Cat, Måneskin, Miley Cyrus, and Nicki Minaj are no slouches either, each earning four nominations, including “Best Song” and “Best Artist.” Can they steal the spotlight on the big night? We’ll have to wait and see!
This year, we’ve got a bunch of fresh faces in the mix with 26 first-time nominees. Jung Kook from BTS is making waves with three nominations as a solo artist. Central Cee, FLO, Ice Spice, PinkPantheress, Asake, Coi Leray, Metro Boomin, The Weeknd, NewJeans, Peso Pluma, and Reneé Rapp are all vying for the coveted awards.
In a groundbreaking move, the 2023 MTV EMAs are introducing the “Best Afrobeats” category. Artists like Asake, Aya Nakamura, Ayra Starr, Burna Boy, Davido, and Rema are in the race for this inaugural award. It’s a celebration of the vibrant Afrobeats scene!
Get ready to be transported to a magical MTV EMA wonderland because the event is making its triumphant return to Paris Nord Villepinte, thanks to Viparis. It’s the first time since 1995 that the show has graced the City of Love with its presence.
The 2023 MTV EMAs will be broadcast in over 150 countries, so fans from all corners of the world can join the party. Fans in Southeast Asia can stay updated by following @MTVAsia and @MTVEMA on social media. Plus, the show will be available live on Pluto TV and on-demand on Paramount+.
Starting today, you have the power to make a difference by voting here for your favorites in categories like “Best Song,” “Best Artist,” “Best Collaboration,” and the brand-new “Best Afrobeats” category. Make sure to cast your votes before 31 October at 11:59 pm CET!
Keep your eyes peeled for updates on the “Biggest Fans” and “Best Group” winners, which will be decided via @MTVEMA on social media. The “Best Video” winner, however, will be chosen by MTV. Additionally, fans from 24 regions worldwide can vote for their beloved artists in the “Best Local Act” category.
