Singapore Heart Foundation and Landmarks Illuminate Red for World Heart Day 2023

In a spectacular display of solidarity for heart health awareness, the Singapore Heart Foundation (SHF) is set to collaborate with 22 prominent buildings and landmarks across Singapore to bathe the city in vibrant red on September 29, 2023. This dazzling event marks World Heart Day 2023, as part of the global #GoRedforWHD movement.

World Heart Day is a powerful platform aimed at educating and inspiring individuals to take better care of their hearts. The symbolism of red serves as a potent reminder of heart health and a warning to be vigilant for the red flags of cardiovascular disease. The participation of these iconic buildings and landmarks, including Junction 8, Singapore Sports Hub, and The Fullerton Hotel, underscores their commitment to spreading awareness about heart health in Singapore.

This year’s World Heart Day theme revolves around the control of high blood pressure and sodium intake. In conjunction with this theme, SHF has designed a compelling social media challenge to empower Singaporeans to take charge of their heart health. Five fortunate winners will have the opportunity to win a free blood pressure monitor, a vital tool for monitoring high blood pressure. The contest is exclusively slated for September 29, 2023, with winners set to be announced on SHF’s Facebook and Instagram pages.

To partake in this engaging contest, here are the simple steps to follow:

  1. Capture a photograph of yourself in front of a participating red-lit building or landmark while making a heart sign.
  2. Share the image on your public Facebook or Instagram account.
  3. Tag @SingaporeHeartFoundation on Instagram and incorporate the hashtag #GoRedForWHD in your post.

This initiative not only promises a mesmerizing visual spectacle but also serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of heart health in Singapore. Join the movement, capture the moment, and embrace the opportunity to win a valuable tool for your heart’s well-being. Mark your calendars for 29 September 2023, and let’s paint the town red for World Heart Day!
