Lights, Camera, Action! Perspectives Film Festival 2023 Takes Center Stage at Oldham Theatre

Get ready for a cinematic extravaganza as Perspectives Film Festival (PFF) returns for its 16th edition, promising to be bigger and better than ever. As Singapore’s first and longest-running student-run film festival, PFF is back with a bang, and this year, it’s all about celebrating the art of sound in cinema. So, mark your calendars for 26 – 29 October 2023, because Oldham Theatre is where the magic is happening.

Opening Night: Perfect Days (2023) by Wim Wenders

PFF 2023 kicks off with a Southeast Asian premiere that’s bound to captivate your senses. “Perfect Days” (2023), the latest masterpiece by legendary filmmaker Wim Wenders, takes center stage. Dive into a cosmopolitan tale that follows a janitor through his monotonous life, where curated soundtracks become his lifeline. It’s a sensory experience you won’t want to miss.

A Cinematic Journey Through Sound

But that’s just the beginning. PFF 2023 has a thrilling lineup that will leave cinephiles buzzing with excitement. Prepare to be moved by Derek Jarman’s final film, “Blue” (1993), and travel back in time with “Trances” (1981), a Moroccan band’s story, which also happens to be the first restoration project for none other than Martin Scorsese’s World Cinema Project.

Late-Night Chills: The Shout (1978)

For those who crave some late-night thrills, make sure to catch the “horror oddity” that is “The Shout” (1978) on 27 October. It’s an eerie cinematic journey that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
