SAUDIA Celebrates Milestone Achievement with Inaugural Direct Flight to Beijing, China

SAUDIA marks a significant moment in its aviation history with the launch of its inaugural direct flight to Beijing, China, as part of a pioneering collaboration with the Air Connectivity Program (ACP). This historic milestone resonates with the overarching Saudi Aviation Strategy, highlighting the strategic significance of air connectivity to access vital markets like China and cater to the growing influx of international tourists eager to explore the treasures of Saudi Arabia.

Taking to the skies on the morning of 4 August 2023, the inaugural SAUDIA flight, designated as SV 0886, embarked on its journey from the King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, destined for Beijing Daxing International Airport (PKX).

The momentous occasion was commemorated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony graced by the presence of His Excellency Engr. Ibrahim Al-Omar, Director General of SAUDIA Group; His Excellency Mr. Chen Weiqing, the esteemed Chinese Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; Mr. Ayman Abu Abah, CEO of JEDCO; and executives from ACP, all gathered at the boarding gate. As departing guests boarded, chocolates and special commemorative boarding passes were distributed to mark this historic day.

The SAUDIA aircraft received a warm welcome at PKX with a dignified water salute, while guests were greeted with flowers and delightful giveaways. An additional ceremony was held to mark the departure of the first flight from Beijing to Saudi Arabia, designated as SV 0887. This ceremony saw the esteemed presence of His Excellency Engr. Ibrahim Al-Omar, His Excellency Mr. Abdulrahman Alharbi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to China; Mr. Ali Rajab, CEO of ACP; and Mr. Kong Yue, Vice President of Beijing Daxing International Airport.

Building on this pivotal achievement, SAUDIA is poised to operate four weekly flights connecting the Kingdom and Beijing. The airline’s extensive fleet will ensure guests experience a seamless travel experience with convenient check-in options, impeccable onboard services, and a premium flight encounter that echoes the airline’s unwavering commitment to excellence.
