Indulge in the rich Tai tai life without breaking the bank.
La Savoir is a contemporary café tucked within Scotts Square, offering authentic French food with a casual luxury twist.
Walking into the main dining area, you’ll be greeted by an ambience that encapsulates European fine dining. From the Hermes wallpapers and tableware to the 6 carefully curated areas, La Savoir’s attention to detail makes for a cohesive and immersive dining experience.
We started with La Savoir’s Tea Time Set ($67++) featuring a selection of sweet and savoury bites as well as an assortment of different bakes. Aside from being served on exquisite Hermes tableware, the set is also paired with TWG tea.
From the sweet selection, it’s no surprise that the Kumquat Citrus Cake was our favourite. It features a collaboration with Japanese-inspired patisserie cafe, Nesuto. The balance of bright and tangy notes made for a refreshingly creamy treat.
The set also comes with Macarons of various flavours depending on the day! We loved that the balance of sweetness was just right, especially with the buttercream.
Surprising, hazelnut pairs with kumquat really well so I loved that the Kumquat cakes were paired with the Hazelnut Milk Choux Puff. Its velvety hazelnut cream and sweet nuttiness will have you wanting seconds!
Lastly, who could ever forget Scones, a buttery Tea Time quintessential to indulge in. Choose from sweet or savoury scones and top it off with the cherry jam provided for an extra kick!
From the savoury range, the Waffle Caviar is a simple yet elegant taste of the sea while the Smoked Salmon Sandwich offers more depth, especially with the buttery brioche. However, I did feel the caviar was overpowered by the shallot cream.
Truffle Mushroom Tart is the usual but I loved the use of olive tart to add a different dimension to the dish. The wild mushrooms at the bottom helped to add a nice crunch too!
Lastly, the Danish Burrata looks unassuming but was actually one of our favourites. Topped with burrata and stuffed with tomato confit, it’s a bite full of flavour that’s reminiscent of pizza.
With limited quantities handcrafted per day, the Tea Time Sets are only available by reservations from 2.30pm – 5.30pm.
La Savoir’s menu seeks to showcase the mélange of French and Asian cuisine. Their signature La Savoir Butter Board ($18+) exemplifies this! Featuring French sea salt butter, furikake butter and spiced shrimp butter, they’re paired with the Chef’s trio bread selection.
Other La Savior recommendations include the Angus Beef Tartare ($28+) and the Tomato Burrata Soup ($17+).
