Pizza Yu Sheng anyone? Try PizzaExpress’s Yu Sheng Pizza and Prosperity Dough Balls for CNY

If you find the regular Yu Sheng too boring for you for CNY, try this.

Usher in the Huat with PizzaExpress’ limited time only exclusive Chinese New Year creations, the Yu Sheng Pizza ($38++ for a 14 inch) and Prosperity Dough Balls ($8++ for 8pcs).

A thin and crispy pizza crust serves as a vessel for housemade passata and Spanish red onions alongside classic yu sheng staples of smoked salmon, julienned baby romaine, red radish, daikon, carrot, cucumber, red chilli thread, candied winter melon, crispy golden pillow crackers and a tangy calamansi plum sauce. All pulled together with stringy mozzarella cheese, for a modern twist.

We tried it and the tossing experience was fun, with good flavours to go along. Now, you can eat the vessel along with the messy tossed Yu Sheng. At just $38 each, you can order a few of this pizza for lohei at home with friends and family for something different.

PizzaExpress’ iconic dough balls are also getting a Chinese New Year update this January. Reminiscent of the traditional childhood muah chee snack, eight dough balls coated in peanut powder, sugar, white and black sesame seeds are steeped into a lucky red condensed milk dip served on the side for a sweet uplift. The bite-sized treats are perfect as appetiser or dessert on the festive dining table.
