Over the last 15 years, Riders Cafe became an institution with the brunch crowd on the weekends. With a one-of-a-kind al-fresco dining venue, the restaurant offers a welcoming sense of ease – an urban escape and the perfect spot for a breather from the hustle and bustle of the city, with splendid sunset views on the verandah, which soon will be lost to the hum of development.
However, the Café announces it will shut its doors at Bukit Timah Saddle Club in early 2023 to make way for development works for the Cross Island Line.
Announced in September 2021, Bukit Timah Saddle Club will vacate their current premises by the first half of 2023 as the space will accommodate a worksite to support tunnelling works for the Cross Island Line.
As such, Bukit Timah Saddle Club intends to move to their new home in Woodlands in 2023. However, Riders Cafe which sub-leases the space from the club will close its doors for good.
Riders Cafe’s closure is not the end for co-owners Jan and Willa. They remain committed to serving up smoked low and slow American BBQ meats at Red Eye Smokehouse. Meanwhile, a new venture has kept them busy – REX, a casual, neighbourhood cocktail bar featuring a concise cocktail menu, and serving up tasty small plates, located right next to Red Eye Smokehouse.
Riders Cafe is currently still very much open and looks forward to serving you.
