The Final Draw for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 took place during a glittering ceremony at Doha Exhibition and Convention Center on Friday night.

The draw ceremony was presented by award-winning actor Idris Elba and broadcaster Reshmin Chowdhury. The draw assistants were FIFA World Cup champions Cafu and Lothar Matthaus, alongside football legends Adel Ahmed MalAllah, Ali Daei, Bora Milutinovic, Jay-Jay Okocha, Rabah Madjer and Tim Cahill. They were supported by a conducting team comprised of FIFA Women’s World Cup champion Carli Lloyd, football pundit and former England player Jermaine Jenas, and British-Jamaican sports presenter Samantha Johnson.

Qatari and Arab culture were showcased throughout the ceremony, while the Official Mascot and the first single from the Official Soundtrack were both unveiled.

Official Mascot – La’eeb

Qatar and FIFA unveil La’eeb as the Official Mascot for FIFA World Cup 2022.

La’eeb is an Arabic word meaning super-skilled player. He belongs to a parallel mascot-verse that is indescribable – everyone is invited to interpret what it looks like. La’eeb encourages you to believe in yourself as ‘Now is All’.

La’eeb has attended every previous FIFA World Cup tournament and has contributed to some of the most famous moments in football history, including a number of iconic goals.

La’eeb will be everywhere – welcoming you and cheering the action during the tournament, which will take place from 21 November to 18 December.

In addition, you will soon be able to download GIFs and stickers of La’eeb via a host of social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, WhatsApp and Snapchat. La’eeb screensavers and filters will also be available for people to download.

Official Soundtrack – Hayya Hayya (Better Together)

The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Official Soundtrack kicks off with the release of the single Hayya Hayya (Better Together), featuring Trinidad Cardona, Davido and Aisha.

The combination of the two artists captures the spirit of the FIFA World Cup and the FIFA Sound strategy by bringing together inspiration from across the globe.

The song is the first in a selection of soundtrack singles that will hit the airwaves over the coming months, as anticipation grows in the lead-up to the start of the FIFA World Cup on 21 November 2022.

It is the first time that the tournament’s soundtrack will feature a multi-song collection, with international artists showcasing diverse musical genres that span the world, setting the tone for a truly global celebration.

FIFA’s newly launched TikTok channel @FIFAWorldCup will show special glimpses of the final draw, with the new single taking centre stage. The track’s official video will also be premiered on FIFA’s YouTube channel.
