[How Does It Taste?] Shake Shack’s First And Only Dark Meat Item- Dark Meat Hot Chicken Burger ($10.80)

Shake Shack has just debuted their US fan favourite, Dark Meat Hot Chicken Burger ($10.80)!

This burger was offered in the US for a limited time in recent years and will now be taking its place in Asia’s Shake Shack menus.

Made with dark meat chicken thigh slow-cooked in buttermilk marinade and fried with Shake Shack’s batter and seasoned flour, the chicken was insanely tender and succulent. Plus, the chicken they use is all-natural and cage-free! 

It was love at first bite! The chicken is fried to crisp and is dusted with a hot pepper blend which makes it so addictive. The crisp exterior and the juicy chicken interior was just so delicious!

For an extra spicy kick, the burger is topped with Louisiana hot sauce slaw. It was moderately spicy, making my lips numb and tingly with spice but nothing too much to handle.

I got the burger with a side of Cheese Fries ($5.90) and Fifty-Fifty ($4.30) which is a mix of organic iced tea and lemonade.

I like to play around with sauces so I added the cheese sauce from the fries to the burger and it was pretty good. The fifty-fifty was a great pairing with the filling burger! It was a light refreshment and helped to balance out the spicy and hearty meal.

What’s not to love about a huge serving of addictively crispy chicken sandwiched between soft, fluffy buns? Overall, the burger is scrumptious and definitely a must-try considering it is the first dark meat burger on the menu in Shake Shack’s history.
