Bugis Town (made up of Bugis Junction, Bugis+ and Bugis Street) is introducing exciting new concepts to enhance its vibrant offerings, as part of its continuous efforts to present refreshing retail experiences to cater to shoppers’ ever-evolving needs.
The “semi-alfresco” main shopping thoroughfare celebrates diversity in retail by introducing a new mix of tenants:
Also in the works – a reconfiguration of the Level 3 space formerly occupied by Food Junction. The space will feature a completely new layout comprising a new-to-market food court concept, and an exciting F&B mix of new and established offerings. With almost 100% of this new space spoken for, shoppers can expect a series of new openings in 2022.
Other exciting new F&B concepts to add on to the rejuvenation include the already-open unique Japanese meat-grilling concept, Hey! Yakiniku (exclusively at Bugis Junction), renowned Japanese souffle pancake chain, Flipper’s, and Taiwanese bakery Kazo with its delectable range of snacks and pastries.
Over at Bugis+, shoppers can gather at hotpot juggernaut Haidilao’s newest outlet on level 4 for signature soup bases while unlocking TikTok hacks for freebies, or head to the charcoal-grilled unagi specialists at Una Una for fresh unagi hitsumabushi.
To complement the wonderfully diverse, culture-rich Bugis precinct, a slew of new and local heritage F&B offerings have recently opened at Bugis Street. Popiah and local food enthusiasts will recognise the famous Kway Guan Huat Joo Chiat Popiah and Kueh Pie Tee, with a rich tradition and heritage dating to more than 70 years back, now centrally located at the Victoria Street entrance to Bugis Street.
Fans of egg tarts and other Hong Kong-style pastries can visit Leung Sang Hong Kong Pastries for handmade egg tarts, polo buns and more. And, not forgetting the fast food ‘connoisseurs’ among us, Jollibee has recently made its way to Bugis Street, for all to indulge in its fried chicken, pasta and signature value meals.
Adventurers, local street art fans and photography enthusiasts must check out the new wall murals by talented local illustrators 8EyedSpud recently completed in December 2021, in partnership with the National Heritage Board.
There’s one at eye level at the Queen Street alley next to McDonald’s, a shoutout to the community-building spirit of Bugis Street and perfect for Instagram moments, and another cannot-miss-it large format mural just above Popeye’s, facing Bugis+ along Victoria Street.
