Bee Cheng Hiang relaunches new and improved Mala Bakkwa (麻辣肉干)

Love spicy food?

Home-grown heritage bakkwa brand, Bee Cheng Hiang had recently relaunched a new seasonal bakkwa flavour on 8 July 2021, following the great reception of their Applewood Sliced Pork.

The Mala Bakkwa (麻辣肉干) is back with a new and improved formula.

This time, the Bakkwa is made from premium pork hind leg, with a unique blend of 2 types of premium special chilli and Sichuan pepper, and barbecued to perfection. All Bee Cheng Hiang’s Bakkwa boasts no added preservatives, meat tenderiser, artificial colourings, flavourings and MSG.

The launch of the Mala Bakkwa adds onto Bee Cheng Hiang’s repertoire of spicy Bakkwa selection, perfect for the spice hunters.

We tried it and found it to be really spicy – definitely a favourite for heavy spice lovers.

The two bottles of water that came with the media drop were not for show and we had to gulp them down after a few bites of the Mala Bakkwa. Then again, that’s the thrill of eating Mala food – the spicier it gets, the more shiok.

The Mala Bakkwa is now available online on Bee Cheng Hiang’s official website as well as at Bee Cheng Hiang’s retail outlets across Singapore at $64/kg.
