[Review] Pull-Apart, Cheesy Goodness with 108 MATCHA SARO’s New Range of Triple-Cheese Obanyaki

108 MATCHA SARO, a dessert chain specialising in premium Matcha desserts recently introduced a new limited edition Obanyaki called “Cheese Trio Obanyaki”.

The 108 MATCHA SARO brand originates from Asahikawa, Hokkaido, Japan and the desserts served are based on selective Kyoto Uji Matcha and various ingredients to bring out an authentic Matcha flavour. 108 MATCHA SARO currently operates three outlets in Singapore which is Ion Orchard, Suntec City and Changi Airport Terminal 3.

What is so special about this limited edition Cheese Trio Obanyaki? Answer:

It is the stretchy, pull-apart cheese!

108 MATCHA SARO’s signature Japanese sweet treat, Obanyaki, and a medley of cheeses come together for a unique treat from the brand. You can savour the Cheese Trio Obanyaki in two flavours: one in Original dough and the other in Matcha dough:

Left: Matcha dough; Right: Original dough

The product features three different cheeses in one Obanyaki – a combination of Cheddar Mozzarella, French Cream Cheese and 108 MATCHA SARO Premium Cheese Mix. Priced at $3.50 each, the Cheese Trio Obanyaki is available exclusively at Ion Orchard and Suntec City outlets only.

Each of the Cheese Trio Obanyaki is freshly made on the spot to ensure they are perfectly done to achieve a soft yet rich and dense texture. The three different cheeses are melted and when pulled apart, unveils cheesy tangles with an elastic texture. If you are buying them for takeaway, reheat them in the microwave or oven before eating to get the elastic, pull-apart cheese effect.

Mozzarella Cheese, known for its pale white colour and its delicate and creamy taste, is fused with French Cream Cheese and the in-house Premium Cheese Mix – resulting in a flavour mix with subtle hints of saltiness and acidity, encapsulated in one Obanyaki.

Good stuff! Tried it, love it.

The Cheese Trio Obanyaki joins 108 Matcha Saro’s signature range of Obanyaki which includes flavours such as Red Bean Paste & Matcha Dough, Matcha Custard & Original Dough, and Red Bean Paste with Warabi Mochi & Matcha Dough. Each Obanyaki is freshly made and infused with premium ingredients imported from Japan and Taiwan.
