If you are doing your year-end festive shopping, try shopping through WhatsApp, all while supporting local businesses, and discovering new, homemade brands that reignited our community spirit. The global pandemic has made 2020 a dreary year for just about everyone, but let’s band together to celebrate with a little cheer by supporting our own home-grown businesses in Singapore.
Here are four local brands that are using WhatsApp Business to power up their businesses. Simply chat with them on the WhatsApp app and get what you need from the comfort of your own home – no queuing, no wearing of mask or having to brave crowds. Best of all, chatting with the brands on WhatsApp is like chatting with a super friendly retail assistant, always happy to make recommendations so you get the right items you need.
To make the in-app shopping experience even breezier, WhatsApp has recently added Carts to its WhatsApp Business App. Below is a video tutorial on how Carts works:
Ready to do your festive shopping on WhatsApp? Below is a curated list of Singapore home-grown businesses, here to spread the Christmas and New Year cheers.
Agatha Xavier, the owner of Lucia Cakes went from banking to baking with love. Her home-made brownie include various flavours from macadamia white chocolate to hazelnut dark chocolate and the classic chocolate.
We ordered a box of 36 brownies from their Nutty Box set. This consists of Nutella, macadamia, peanut butter and salted caramel brownies. We requested for a customised inscription “Merry Christmas Asher!” and they kindly agreed!
Started by a mother-and-daughter duo, Teaspoon of Love source pure, authentic tea with a focus on craftsmanship, creating their own tea blends, to elevate the daily tea experience.
We had a lot of fun chatting with them as they patiently guided us through their selection of tea, making the right recommendation based on our taste preferences. In the end, we settled for their Christmas Blend.
We ordered a Ritual Gift Set which comes with a tin of tea, a exquisite pair of tea cups and a glass pot.
Founded by friends, Yingying Wong and Tan Lijin, the brand’s core mission is to promote a stress-free lifestyle while maintaining good physical and mental health.
Ordering was easy and fuss-free. They were extremely on the ball with recommendations as well as delivery and storage instructions to ensure you enjoy your kombucha at their best flavours.
We ordered a gift hamper featuing all four of their tea infusion flavours in 400ml bottles – Summer Pear & Green Tea; Rose Apple Grape & Green Tea; Watermelon & Mint Tea; and White Peach & Oolong. I am a tea lover and absolutely fell in love with their latest tea infused range.
This Japanese-French inspired bakery specialises in delicate Japanese light-cream, hand-crafted macarons. The founder and owner, Annabella Sonwelly, spent over a decade traveling to bakeries and chocolatiers around the world, tasting and researching ingredients to create her version of the perfect macaron.
This bakery is also halal-certified and delivers island-wide in Singapore.
We ordered a set of 30 Christmas macarons and a box of brownies from them. The macarons are perfect to my liking as they are not overly sweet and with a light fluffy crunch.
That’s it for the list.
