The popular Nostalgic Dim Sum buffet by Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant is back again. In this year’s iteration, Executive Chef Leung Wing Chung (执行广东主厨梁永祥师傅), together with his team of chefs, proudly presents the return of up to 40 fine-crafted dim sum items, Chef’s specialty premium dishes and desserts in a hearty dim sum feast that evokes a sense of nostalgia.
The Dim Sum buffet includes items that are one serving only, as well as items that are under unlimited servings.
We started with the Braised Abalone and Spikey Sea Cucumber Soup that was a hit with everyone at our table. Apart from the star ingredients in its name, there are also wolfberries, ginkgo nuts, and cabbage so perfectly infused with the appetizing tanginess of the soup. Special mention is due to the generous portion of sea cucumber, expertly boiled to a just-right melt-in-your-mouth quality.
This platter was a crowd-pleaser too. The platter consists of Chong Qing Chilled Chicken with Spicy Bean Sauce, Roasted Duck, Roasted Pork, Assorted Shredded Carrots with Marinated Jellyfish
A twist to the usual chilli crab, this chilli prawn version holds its own.
Tender fish within a crispy exterior.
A signature dish of Si Chuan Dou Hua, this is really addictive! But be warned that it is really quite mala. Luckily, the house-made signature soy milk is free-flow.
Quite seldom to see pork knuckle vinegar (猪脚醋) as part of dim sum selection!
We liked the generous cut of juicy prawn wrapped within these crystal-skin dumplings.
And how can any buffet nowadays not feature a truffle-flavored something?
Abalone-studded atas rendition of the good ol’ siew mai.
Appreciate the cute goldfish look of this dumpling. But taste-wise, I feel it’s just okayish as its filling of minced fish felt machine-processed and lacked the handmade texture I prefer.
The Nostalgic Dim Sum Feast is available for lunch from Tuesdays to Thursdays at SGD46++ per Adult, and Fridays to Sundays, and Public Holidays at SGD52++ Per Adult. A special bundle offer is available on Fridays to Sundays, and Public Holidays at SGD188++ for four (4) Adults.
