The a la carte buffet follows the cultural concept of Hidang Mahsuri, a family style serving that showcases a wide spread of dishes, alluring colours and flavours on an often elaborate table setting. This serving style is commonly applied at traditional Malay weddings in Singapore.
At Asian Market Cafe, guests can expect to be treated to a spread of Southeast Asian cuisine featuring local and modern favourites that pay tribute to the diverse flavours and cultures in the region. Appetisers and main courses are presented in a distinctive silver dome set, allowing guests to come together and reunite over a vibrant array of sumptuous treats.
To start off the meal, appertisers include their signature Thai Mango Salad, Nyonya Achar, Hummus and an assortment of Japanese Sushi and Maki:
After a serving or two of appetisers, a selection of hearty main dishes await, including familiar local delicacies like Beef Rendang and Sweet and Sour Fish Fillet. Other dishes include the crunchy Wok Fried Cereal King Prawn, Thai Pineapple Fried Rice and Ikan Masak Asam Pedas, simmered in a spicy and tangy tamarind sauce.
On top of the Hidang Mahsuri spread, there are three live stations where chefs will prepare other local favourites. These include the Grilled Chicken and Beef Satay paired with peanut sauce and condiments, a selection of Roti Prata served with Vegetable Dalcha or Mutton Keema, Roasted Beef as well as both Singapore Laksa and Penang Laksa. These can be ordered in unlimited servings from the restaurant wait staff.
Additionally, seafood lovers can look forward to the Deep Ocean Seafood Platter, consisting of cooked cold prawns, deep ocean scallop and salmon sashimi. The platter comes with a side of condiments including cocktail sauce, lemon wedges and wasabi mayonnaise. For cooked seafood options, guests can alternatively choose the Wok-Fried Singapore Chilli Crab. Note that these seafood items are limited to one-time serving only per table.
To bring the meal to a nice, complete finale, the restaurant features a curated assortment of tempting and visually pleasing desserts, with items such as the decadent Durian Pudding, Bubur Chacha and Nonya Kuehs or a Fresh Fruits Platter.
Ending off the meal, you can choose for Coffee, Tea or local favourite – Teh Tarik!
