7 Google Doodle games you should play during quarantine

If you’re looking for little ways to pass the time during the current circuit breaker period, you might want to take a trip down memory lane and play some old Google Doodle games. While they may not have the amazing graphics found in today’s console games, they are still a fun way to distract yourself for a few minutes, especially during any short breaks you might have while working at home.

You’d be glad to know that Google Doodles don’t just disappear after their 24 hours of fame on the Google homepage. They go into this archive here.

Here are 7 classic Google Doodle games that we have been enjoying lately:

Crossword Puzzle

To celebrate an entire century of crossword puzzles, Google created their very own crossword puzzle back on December 21, 2013, which they made with the help of famous crossword constructor Merl Reagle.

Doctor Who

This Google Doodle game was released to celebrate Doctor Who’s 50th anniversary on November 23, 2013. It features the 11 Doctors (there were only 11 back then) and Daleks.

Hip Hop

To honour this popular musical genre, this Google Doodle features interactive turntables that you can mix tracks on. It’s a lot of fun, especially if you’re a true blue fan of hip hop.

Kids Coding

One of our favourite Google Doodles to date, this game is based on the Scratch programming language. In it, you have to help an animal collect its favourite food through six fun levels.

Oskar Fischinger

This interactive Google Doodle honours musician Oskar Fischinger. It will allow you to make your own music and even share the music you create.

Pac-Man

This was the first ever playable Google Doodle game, which was released to celebrate Pac-Man’s 30th birthday on May 21, 2010. This definitely put a smile on people’s faces when it was released and continues to do so today.

Rubik’s Cube

Rubik’s cubes may be fun as fidget toys; but they can be fun as a Google Doodle game, as well. The only difference is you can’t cheat your way out of this one by peeling off the stickers.
